«Economic security is fundamental for the new generations»

CAMPOBASSO. Antonio D’Alessandro, on behalf of CISL Molise, raises a crucial issue for the future of our region: the birth rate. Recent data reveal an alarming reality: one in three young people gives up on becoming a parent due to economic and work uncertainty.

«Molise is facing a significant demographic challenge. The birth rate is 5.8 newborns per thousand inhabitants, while the mortality rate is more than double, at 14.7 per thousand. This difference in level has led to a negative natural balance and a demographic decline.

CISL Molise recognizes that the decision to start a family is strongly influenced by economic stability. The lack of stable jobs and policies to support young families is contributing to the decline in the birth rate.”

D’Alessandro emphasizes the importance of targeted interventions that can offer young people the guarantees necessary to face parenthood with serenity. «It is essential that institutions, together with trade unions and companies, collaborate to create conditions favorable to family growth and the well-being of children. CISL Molise is committed to promoting initiatives and dialogues with the social partners to develop effective strategies that can reverse this trend and ensure a prosperous future for our region.”
