History and magical traditions are the protagonists of Sunday’s program at the San Giovanni Fair. Among the many entertainment and entertainment events, in fact, some events stand out that bring the charm of the past back to life. At 6.00 pm, the Witches of San Zvan arrive in Piazzetta Albizzi and will revive the rites, spells, magical herbs, traditions and superstitions of the magical eve of St. John. At 8.30 pm, however, the Giostra di Cesena association will be in the limelight in the streets of the centre, which will launch the 2024 edition of the tournament with a small historical procession in costume and an auctioneer who will declaim the announcement of the joust through the streets of the centre. .
Poetry comes to the fore at the Cloister of San Francesco where, at 9.15pm, the traditional appointment with the “Poets in San Giovanni”, promoted by “Campo della Stella”, returns. This year the evening will be dedicated to the Ravenna poet Nevio Spadoni and his “Fiat lux! It is fat dla creazion”, rewriting of Genesis. The readings will be entrusted to Nevio Spadoni himself and to the actors Denis Presepi and Anna Tomassini. Music by Christian Ravaglioli. Gianfranco Lauretano hosts. Free admission. Also on the evening of Sunday 23 June (from 9pm to 11pm) the streets of the Magic Musicians (i.e. Fantaguzzi, Strinati, Righi and Albizzi streets) will come alive with performances by street artists: the program includes balancing acts and juggling with fire and performance with giant bubbles. Instead, music will be made in Piazza Amendola with the Bruce Brothers.
There are many musical events at the Serravalle Gardens. At 6pm the vintage sounds of the Michele Scucchia Swing Trio arrive, featuring Sara Ghtami. As usual, the DJ set by Dj Gala starts from 7.00 pm, while at 9.30 pm the Kozmic Band (Janis Joplin tribute) will be on stage. At the Savelli kiosk, from 7 pm until after midnight, the second evening of the Romagna Gin Fest, with over 20 types of Romagna gins and food stands. And, naturally, throughout the day you will be able to browse among the over 400 stalls scattered throughout the area of Viale Mazzoni, Via Cesare Battisti, Corso Mazzini and Corso Sozzi, in the quadrant of the Ancient Fair and Giardini di Serravalle, or refresh yourself by choosing between the taverns, the food trucks, the restaurants that dot the map of the Fair.
