Avoid the relocation of those production activities which, following the damage of the earthquake, need to temporarily close their premises to allow the related works to be carried out. This is also in light of the fact that, very often, temporary relocations become permanent, with the loss of important activities in the territories and in historic and urban centres.

This is the objective of the request formulated by the Mayor of Teramo and coordinator of the Anci of the Gianguido D’Alberto crater on the basis of the numerous reports and requests received from Teramo commercial activities, but which concern the entire seismic crater, and already shared with the USR Abruzzo and in particular with the director Vincenzo Rivera. Proposal which has already been transformed into an amendment to the Consolidated Law on private reconstruction, which the Abruzzo USR itself, in agreement with the USR of the other regions, will bring to the attention of the next coordination booth.

Thanks to this amendment, which implements one of our proposals and for which I thank the director Vincenzo Rivera for the attention shown, we are going to allow to commercial and productive activities that need to carry out minor works and which require a closure period of up to six months – underlines the Mayor Gianguido D’Alberto – to avoid temporary relocation and request, alternatively, compensation that allows them to financially support those few months of suspension of activity. Compensation that would be calculated for the months of actual closure and commensurate with the turnover and profits of previous years. In this way we would help businesses and at the same time avoid emptying the historic centres. A need that concerns all the municipalities of the crater and which effectively fills a regulatory gap highlighted by all the mayors. I am sure that the coordination cabin will share this need with us, as has already been done by the USR”.
