PORDENONE – On June 21st, the day of the summer solstice, Pordenone transformed the celebration into an opportunity to do good for the environment. During the Music Festival, an event that every year involves artists and enthusiasts all over the world, the city hosted a special collection of WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment), managing to collect 45.9 kg of discarded electronic material.
The perfect synergy for a positive impact
The event took place thanks to the collaboration between various local entities such as Pro Loco Pordenone, GEA spa, the Puliamo i neighborhoods project, ERION WEEE and the organizers of the Music Festival. This synergy made it possible to make the most of the setting of the Piano City Pordenone 2024 Festival, enriching it with an eco-sustainable initiative.
An afternoon of music and environmental awareness
Friday afternoon saw the volunteers of Puliamo i neighborhoods busy in Piazza della Motta, where they set up an information stand on WEEE. Between 4pm and 8pm, numerous citizens actively participated in the disposal, bringing with them microwaves, monitors, DVD players, computers, keyboards and other small appliances. The target? Empty homes of unused devices and promote greater awareness of recycling practices.
Education and awareness: the tools for a sustainable future
The volunteers took advantage of the opportunity to distribute leaflets and informative gadgets, raising awareness among the participants on the issues of sustainability and the circular economy. This initiative not only made it possible to free up space in the home from electronic devices no longer used, but also educated the community on the importance of correct disposal of WEEE, which is fundamental for protecting the environment.
