On Friday evening, at the Terni Fencing Club, a special evening dedicated to the athletes and the values ​​of Fair Play took place. The “Olympic Evening” brought together the fencing talents of the Club, their families and friends in an atmosphere of great sharing, uniting all the members of the Cstr in greeting the competitive year just concluded and in wishing the best to the pride of Terni Alessio Foconi ahead of his departure for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Fair Play and rookie awards The evening also represented an important opportunity for collaboration between the Terni Fencing Club, the Regional Fair Play Committee and Zone 8B of the Lions Club International. It was an opportunity to reiterate the importance of sporting values ​​and collaboration. During the event, the award ceremony of the Fair Play ambassadors was celebrated, recognizing three different athletes: Gabriele Zagaglioni, Anna Bececco and Federico Carta. A further moment of great emotion of the evening was another awards ceremony, the one dedicated to the young athletes of play fencing and rookies. They received special certificates with the fencer’s decalogue, a set of rules that invites them to grow not only as athletes, but also as better people.

The fencer from Terni shared his happiness for the Olympic call-up and his determination to face the challenges that await him in the French capital, starting with the men’s foil team competition on August 4.
