Simon Blese, 49, is from Borgo San Dalmazzo. He has been in a wheelchair for 14 years because he suffers from Adem, or encephalomyelitis, an inflammatory neurological disease affecting both the brain and spinal cord. It is part of the autoimmune diseases.
“It’s not an easy condition, because I’m not self-sufficient – explains Simon himself – But that doesn’t make me feel sorry for myself and, above all, that doesn’t make me not want to live. Also because I have a wonderful 13-year-old daughter, whom I caressed with my own hands for the first time when I was already sick.”
Simon has a big dream: to publish a book of photographs and poems made by him, exploring the world in my wheelchair. To make this dream come true Simon has created a crowdfunding on the GoFundMe platform because the construction costs are high and he cannot afford it with his own resources alone.
