Fiumicino, the new two-lane bridge towards Fregene

The new “Ceci” bridge, to connect the Focene-Santa Ninfa area to Maccarese and Fregene and for which the preliminary works for the replacement of the old and narrow structure are already underway, will be dual lane, composed of two carriageways from 3.50 meters. In addition, a pedestrian sidewalk and a cycle path will be built. These are the data that emerged in the Council Commission, in the Municipality of Fiumicino, convened to take stock of the status of the works of this important territorial connection.

“In the meeting – explains the president of the Public Works Commission Roberto Feola – we examined the design drawings illustrated by the technician responsible for the shipbuilding area. All the political and technical aspects of the history of a bridge were covered which, due to its important connecting function, has not been able to find a concrete realization over the years”. “The will and ability of the Administration was, without a doubt, to speed up the entire process to proceed with the start of the works which will bring a great result to the citizens. This allows us to provide many answers throughout the territory and carry out programmatic interventions and critical issues to be addressed. The fundamental aspect remains above all that relating to the safety that the old bridge did not guarantee and the width of the carriageways which will also allow many heavy and agricultural vehicles to pass more smoothly”, he concludes.
