The Theater Revolutionizes the Edition in Fano.

From the nostalgic and inspiring gaze of Adriano Olivetti to the tender solo of Giuseppe Ungaretti’s unpublished autograph, the twelfth edition of the Passaggi Festival, scheduled in Fano from 26 to 30 June, brings the novelty of the theater. Two titles on stage: one dedicated to the visionary figure of Adriano Olivetti, already presented at the Rome Auditorium, staged on the occasion of the centenary of Paolo Volponi’s birth; the other show, inspired by “The books feel alone” by Luigi Contu, presented as a national preview during the Passaggi Festival 2022.

This book has not only given rise to a unique exhibition, but is now taking on a performative dimension that goes beyond the printed pages. A lively demonstration of the artistic versatility of the festival, already staged at the Teatro Manzoni in Rome and which this year is repeated in the magical setting of Fano.

“Passaggi Festival is dedicated to books – states Giovanni Belfiori, director of the Festival, with enthusiasm – being able to propose transversal events that go beyond the paper format, such as theatre, demonstrates our desire to overcome patterns without ever losing sight of the excellence of non-fiction and non-fiction in the program”.

This is not a simple academic event, but a dynamic and multi-faceted event that embraces various themes with a program that sees 150 events alternate over the five days. Among these, meetings with authors, workshops for children, writing masters, scientific aperitifs in collaboration with the University of Camerino and, obviously, the two eagerly awaited theater shows.

This year’s theme, “Error and Artifice,” is an invitation to the critical and creative exploration of our relationship with failure and social constructions. In this context, the arrival of the theater represents a significant and exciting novelty.

By integrating multiple forms of art and culture, Passaggi Festival confirms itself as an essential event for lovers of reading, theater and all-round culture. Passaggi has always been a choral event that involves the entire historic center of Fano, attracting thousands of spectators and supporting the local and regional cultural scene.

The new mayor of Fano, Luca Serfilippi, expresses his joy at the start of the Passaggi Festival, calling it an “event of great importance not only for Fano, but for the entire Marche Region”. The experience of these days confirms the commitment of local institutions to supporting and enhancing art and culture.

Splendid guests will accompany these intense days of culture, with great names such as Marcello Veneziani, Roby Facchinetti, Luca Bizzarri, Gianluca Grignani, Riccardo Rossi, Mauro Canali and Alessandra Mussolini. Great attention is paid to the award ceremony of key figures of contemporary Italian culture, including Luigi Manconi, defender of human rights, Alessandro Cattelan, founder of the “Accento” publishing house, and Barbara Stefanelli, deputy director of Corriere della Sera, who will be interviewed by Paolo Petrecca, director of Rai News.

In conclusion, the twelfth edition of Passaggi Festival promises to be a celebration of culture, art and literature, in which the theatre, this year’s protagonist, will add a further piece to a mosaic already rich in colours, ideas and suggestions . The appointment is in Fano, from 26 to 30 June, for a journey into the universe of books and beyond.
