MONTESILVANO. Summer lights up in Montesilvano.
The events of the summer program begin from this weekend and the pedestrian area starts next weekend, with the seafront closed to cars. In particular, the limited traffic zone will be in force from 30 June to 31 August, involving the stretch of coast between the large hotels and Viale Europa every day. The “short” island, scheduled from Monday to Wednesday, will be expanded on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, also involving the stretch between Viale Europa and Viale Abruzzo.
And in the meantime, waiting to see the 16 big names hired to liven up the Riviera with concerts at the Teatro del Mare arrive in the city from the beginning of July, tomorrow and Sunday the village of Montesilvano Colle will be the theater of the first events that make up the calendar of the season. To inaugurate it, Diorama Festival, the traveling exhibition conceived and directed by Paolo Cicalini.
There in the place where the festival took shape for the first time in 2021, two days of art, music, culture and tourism will take place tomorrow and Sunday, starting at 6pm and with free entry. Tomorrow evening on the belvedere at 10.30 pm the Ice Cream Wizard will perform in concert and the following evening at 9.30 pm, it will be Altea’s turn. «The two artists represent a very important piece in the national panorama of experimental music, with the Afrobeat-nu jazz of the former and the experimental songwriting of the latter», anticipates Ccalini. In addition to the main artists, there will be musical selections from Abruzzo’s Deliuan, Barbuscia, Samo, Portanuevayork, Zeromatism. Music will be accompanied by visual arts, as well as street food and tasting stands.
«The ancient village of Montesilvano Colle, with its splendid viewpoint overlooking the Adriatic and Sleeping Beauty, is the place where we imagined, for the first time in 2021, our path to promote and enhance the Abruzzo territory», continues Ccalini . «Since August 2021, the festival has been recognized by the Abruzzo Region, has touched dozens of Abruzzo municipalities and has seen its activity recognized by the Ministry of Tourism».
It will always be Montesilvano Colle, but in Piazza Giardino, on Sunday evening from 8.30pm to midnight, it will host the feast of San Giovanni, with traditional dances, music and songs around the fire. During the evening, organized by the Lu Ramajette association with the collaboration of AC Montesilvano Colle, the ritual of exchanging the Ramajetto will take place.
