New council, meetings begin It’s about positions and delegations – Pescara

PESCARA. Ten days. This is more or less the time that the coalition has given itself to define seats and delegations of the new council.
Mayor Carlo Masci from today he is back operational in the Municipality after the four days in Portugal and discussions between the leaders of Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia and Lega could begin this weekend. The criterion for managing the avalanche of consensus gathered by many of the candidates of the first two parties seems to be that of continuity, even running the risk of displeasing, and by a lot, some of the most voted ones. But we’re here now.
Tuesday the electoral commission chaired by the President of the Court Angelo Bozza the recount relating to the elected councilors should end. At that point we will proceed with the proclamation of the latter and of the mayor Masci who within ten days will have to convene the municipal council to meet within the following ten days. And by that date the mayor, presumably at the beginning of July, will want to present himself with the completed council.
A council that will have to face three years of fire, with the 2027 elections for New Pescara on the horizon and an opposition more fierce than ever. A grand final climate, with the government of the metropolitan city up for grabs, in which the center-right needs to be united and prepared, even at the cost of sacrificing some individuality. Attachment to the colors and team spirit is what the provincial coordinator of Forza Italia essentially asks of him Lorenzo Sighs, currently still dealing with the Pignoli issue, the most voted of the Azzurri. But it is not the only issue in the coalition.
To be rewarded for the enormous success achieved there is also, in Fratelli d’Italia, Cristian Orta, the most voted ever. But his 1,141 votes meet the criterion of consensus and not of continuity which the former councilor boasts among Melonians Alfredo Cremonese (the most voted among the members of the old council) and the former councilor and vice mayor Gianni Santilli, however still in credit with the party after the disappointment received at the regional elections. It is with these last two that Fratelli d’Italia would fill the two men’s boxes, provided that they do not succeed in the objective of inserting a single female quota with Zaira Zamparelli. Only in this way would Orta find space, but it is unlikely that Forza Italia, already dealing with its group of suitors, will say yes, much less the League which already has the seat ready for the outgoing Adelchi Sulpizio. More likely, however, is that in the end Fratelli d’Italia will agree to include a second woman, and it would seem to be in pole position Mariarita Paoni Saccone. But at that point the axis of the negotiation would shift to the delegations and guidance (for Orta) of some important commission, just as Forza Italia seems to regulate itself with Marcello Antonelli destined for the presidency of the Urban Planning Commission.
But on the scales there is also the presidency of the city council, a central role within the Council for which, and everyone agrees on this, great experience is required. Forza Italia, if they stay out as it seems Luigi Albore Mascia of the civic Pescara Futura and the former president Marcello Antonelli induced to give way in his electoral “half” Maria Rita Carrothe already has it ready Roberto Renzetti. Fratelli d’Italia would bring in Santilli who, alternatively, would have the position of vice mayor and the replacement of a councilor who would not instead take over the presidency of the council. But the issue is closely linked to the distribution of delegations.
The heaviest ones, Public Works and Urban planning and construction, could go to Forza Italia (the first) and Fratelli d’Italia (the second) as well as Commerce to the former and Tourism and major events to the latter. It is also likely that Forza Italia will continue to have a budget and taxes with Eugenio Seccia and Fdi school construction with Santilli, as well as the Northern League member Adelchi Sulpizio could remain Security and Social Policies while Claudio Croce, former Italian president of the Statute commission, would be assigned the delegation for Nuova Pescara. Certainly, everyone in the coalition agrees on one thing: it will have to be a team capable of ferrying the center-right to the helm of the future metropolitan city.
