Red flag weekend in Bari. In particular tomorrow, Saturday 22 June, the thermometers of the Apulian capital will record temperatures of up to 36 degreesthe. While for today, Friday 21 June, a level 2 forecast has been confirmed, for tomorrow the alert will be maximum, i.e. a level that indicates “high risk conditions that persist for three consecutive days”, in addition to “alert of social and health services”.

The municipality’s operational plan

To counteract the heat, themunicipal welfare department of Bari this year too, it has prepared an operational plan in order to deal with inconveniences and socio-health problems related to the summer season, with particular attention to elderly people and people in fragile situations. On days when the heat will be particularly felt, for example, mineral salts and water will be distributed to the elderly and vulnerable people. The plan involves over 50 public and private entities, including Civil Protection, Local Health Authority, Federfarma, professional associations, local police, general practitioners and 118, as well as the private social network, Caritas and lay and Catholic volunteering. Furthermore, some of the services guaranteed until 15 September are already active, such as the unit in via Dante aimed at preventing the effects of heat waves on the elderly.
