After a back and forth in which the player’s opinion was decisive in definitively unblocking the negotiation, Vitinha officially becomes a Genoa player.
In the last few hours, after the agreement signed with the Portuguese born in 2000, the Villa Rostan club also formalized the negotiation with Olympique de Marseille which brought the former Sporting Braga under the Lanterna on a permanent basis: to the French a sum of approximately 16 million to which another 4 will be added linked to the achievement of any bonuses, with a right of repurchase of 40 million.
A “balance” operation compared to the initial price estimated by the Marseille club in the negotiation which, last January, had brought Vitinha to the court of Alberto Gilardino, when the ransom was set at around 25 million euros.
The official announcement came from the two clubs on their respective social channels, where the player himself wanted to greet his former supporters: “It was an honor to wear this historic shirt and give the best of myself for this club – wrote the Portuguese – Even if everything didn’t go as I had dreamed, I leave with precious lessons and unforgettable memories. The passion you show for the club is an inspiration and has always given me the desire to give my all on the pitch. A part of me will always remain in Marseille, here I grew up as a person and as a footballer“.
And so a message for the future: “Genoani, we are still together. In a short time we created such a strong bond that it was right to move on. I’m waiting for you at Ferraris to continue dreaming with our colors“.
