Sohaib Teima had been reported 4 times, the 21-year-old from Fermo now on trial for mistreatment in Grenobleand suspected of murdering Auriane Nathalie Laisine, 22 year old from Lyon, his ex-girlfriend, in Italy. According to Italian justice, he would have been the one who killed the girl in the little church above La Salle, in Valle d’Aosta, at the end of March. The girl’s body was found on the ground, curled up in a fetal position near the church.
The ruling of the Grenoble Court of Appeal will be announced on 4 September. Yesterday’s trial against him lasted about 5 hours and the public prosecutor, according to local news reports, asked for a more severe sentence for him than the one inflicted on him at first instance: 18 months in prison against the 6 initially expected by the judges on May 3rd.

In Italy, however, the trial against him will follow the tracks of femicide. The 21-year-old is in fact accused of the murder of Auriane Nathalie Laisine, found dead with a cut to the throat in La Salle, in the Aosta Valley. For the moment, Teima is awaiting extradition to Italy already granted by the Court of Appeal of Grenoble.

The investigators who reconstructed the 21-year-old’s story found that the murder victim had already reported him 4 times for the theft of his mobile phone, for the appropriation of his Instagram accounts and that of his emails and finally for the beatings and violence. The evidence against him therefore remains overwhelming, according to the Attorney General.
In court, the 21-year-old tried to defend himself by claiming that he “never hurt” his ex-girlfriend. “She had a lot of potential, she was good and she was beautiful. She didn’t deserve what happened to her – she underlined -. I’m sad about what happened, but I never hit her or insulted her.”
According to the lawyers who defend him in Grenoble, the accusations against him are false and they have asked for his acquittal.
