One of the most representative figures of the association, who in 1997 contributed to the re-foundation of the Perugian Vespa movement, passed away at the age of 86 after a difficult illness

Sad news for the city of Perugia and for the many Vespa enthusiasts. At the age of 86, the Honorary President of the Vespa Club Perugia Luciano Passerini passed away after a difficult illness.

For the Perugian Vespa movement, considered in the modern age, Passerini was a true founding father. In fact, it was he, in the company of his member Armando Serpolla (long-time President of the Club) who reconstituted the association in 1997 after some years of inactivity. Passerini then stood out among the members for his great commitment and sense of belonging, so much so that he held the role of treasurer for 20 years. In 2021 the Club awarded him the title of Honorary President, which followed that of honorary member received in 2018. For years, the administrative-accounting backbone of the Luisa Spagnoli company, Passerini actively participated in the social life of the city, providing his voluntary contribution also in other associations, above all the ‘Luigi Bonazzi’ alongside maestro Franco Venanti, the Club Velico di Passignano sul Trasimeno and the Colle del Sole choir of the CAI section of Perugia, where he sang as bass for a long time .

“We have lost a piece of our history – declares the President of the Vespa Club Perugia Andrea Sonaglia -. A great Vespa enthusiast, but above all a polite man, profoundly kind and endowed with a strong sense of zeal towards the associative activity. For this reason he deserved the title of Honorary President and the great esteem and affection that all Vespa fans from Perugia and beyond have always shown him.”

Luciano Passerini’s funeral will be held on Saturday 22 June at 11 am at the church of San Ferdinando in via Petrarca in Perugia.
