Three Nigerian citizens – two men aged 24 and 28 and a 31-year-old woman – were arrested on Wednesday evening by the anti-drug section of the Mobile team of Terni, in collaboration with their colleagues from the Volante. The operation began following some reports from citizens residing in the Borgo Bovio area, collected by the state police also through the use of dog units, as ordered by the police commissioner Luigi Mangino.

The first element that emerged was the sale of a dose of heroin by the 24-year-old Nigerian to a customer of Italian nationality near the Rosselli park. The young man was with his 31-year-old pregnant partner and both were stopped and searched. The search was also extended to the house to which the woman was in possession of the keys – in Via Sicilia – and where the 28-year-old compatriot, owner of the rental contract, was also identified.

Inside a room, anti-drug investigators found as many as one hundred sheets of heroin with a total weight of 1,856 kilograms and other material for cutting and packaging the drug. The estimated value of the narcotic is around 100 thousand euros. At the couple’s residence – in via Mauri – another 82 doses of drugs were found for a total of 46 grams of heroin and 5 of cocaine.

All three were arrested red-handed and made available to the prosecutor Giorgio Panucci: the two men were taken to the Terni prison while the woman was placed under house arrest. The position of the three on the national territory is also being examined.

The validation hearing was held on Friday in front of the investigating judge Chiara Mastracchio. The 28 year old is defended by the lawyer Anna Mattioli, the 24 year old by the lawyer Alessio Olimpieri and the 31 year old by the lawyer Lorenzo De Luca.
