VENICE – Saturday June 22, 2024, the thirteenth edition of Art Night Venice will return to Venice. This year, the event will be dedicated to Marco Polo, on the 700th anniversary of his death.
The initiative, conceived and coordinated byCa’ Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with the Municipality of Venice and with the patronage of the Veneto Region, it is now a fixed appointment in the calendar of European Art Nights.
The evening will begin at 6.00 pm in the main courtyard of Ca’ Foscari with the official inauguration in the presence of Anthony MarcominiVice Rector of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Paola Mar, Councilor of the University of the Municipality of Venice, Silvia BuriniScientific Director of Art Night Venice, e Angela Bianco, Coordinator of Art Night Venice. During the opening, free gadgets will be distributed to those present (a second distribution is scheduled for 10pm).
Exhibition “Uzbekistan: the avant-garde in the desert”
This year, the focus will be on the exhibition Uzbekistan: the Vanguard in the desertthe first exhibition in the West of the masterpieces of Museums of Tashkent and Nukus, which also includes four works by Kandinsky. The event is part of the celebrations of Marco Polo’s centenary, highlighting the cultural dialogue between East and West. At 10.30pm, in Courtyard of Ca’ Foscariwill be held Avant-garde in the desert: images, fabrics, sounds, wordsan event that includes a video projection, an audio-visual performance and musical translations with the Musicafoscari Ensemble.
Novelty
Among the new features this year, the Sleepless Video Art Night will begin at 00:30 at the Santa Margherita Auditorium, with a marathon of video art which will last until 6:30 in the morning. They will be presented 30 unpublished works on the theme of travelcreated by international artists.
Furthermore, other exhibitions will be open to visitors, including “ANY WAR ANY ENEMY” by Lena Herzog, at the Tesa 1 of CFZ, Ca’ Foscari Zattere, and the CYFEST15 International Media Art Festival: Vulnerability, Veniceat the GAD-Giudecca Art District.
Guided tours
There will be guided tours of the main headquarters of Ca’ Foscari University at 6.30pm and 7.30pm. To participate, you must book by sending an email to [email protected].

Events of June 23rd
Art Night doubles this year with a special event on Sunday 23 June in the garden of Palazzina Briati: “Le petit déjeuner RAINBOW”. The event, in collaboration with MALìPARMI, will include guided tours, workshops for children and a performance by the Vocal Group Mamme per Caso.
