Large fire in an industrial warehouse in Ancona. Firefighters at work for almost 24 hours

ANCONA – The Fire Brigade intervened late yesterday evening, 19 June, in via Caduti del Lavoro for a fire involving an industrial warehousein the Baraccola area

According to what was reported by ANSA, the flames broke out with tall columns of thick, black smoke. The intervention of the Fire Brigade was also complicated by some explosions that were heard as the fire broke out, probably deriving from some cylinder or flammable material present inside.

After three hours of work, the fire was contained and brought under control, but only after nine hours all the outbreaks were almost completely extinguished.

We would like to inform you that no injuries or poisoning have been reported, but that some families from nearby buildings have been evacuated as a precaution.

The causes of the fire remain to be established, probably attributable to the ferrous material and stored paper, as well as other waste to be recycled, present inside.

UPDATE

The work of the fire brigade teams continues to put out the fire that involved the industrial warehouse during the night. The clearance and reclamation operations of the materials involved are currently underway.

UPDATE

The extinguishing and clearance operations in the shed that was on fire last night continued throughout yesterday. Since the afternoon, an airport fire vehicle equipped with two cannons has also been used to shoot a large quantity of high-pressure water on the burnt material.
