The people who arrested him between Saturday and Sunday, around 01.30 am, were the Carabinieri, who, after the report of a robbery “to the detriment of three subjects” which took place on the Colonna seafront, intervened on the spot and stopped the man, who was subjected to the obligation to stay with the prescription not to leave his home during the night hours. What is striking is the fact that, “noticing the company car, with a sudden move he hid among the cars parked there”.
Searched by the militaryRadiomobile rate (he had on 80 euros) and taken to the offices in via Caduti di Nassiriya, the investigators soon reconstructed the entire story. The man, arrested on May 25 for violence and for threatening a public official, is said to have kidnapped a boy to “achieve an unfair profit as the price of his release” from two friends of the victim after having stopped one of them to “ask him to borrow a lighter ». An excuse to make money.
The 33-year-old, in fact, after having also reached the other two friends of the victim – the fortuitous meeting with them, however, allowed him to alert the 112 -, «he threatened them with unjust harm if they did not hand him over 20 euros each, declaring that otherwise he would go and get “the iron” (the gun) and that “he wouldn’t think twice about acting”. Not having access to cash, he then “forced two of the victims to go to a nearby ATM”.
Not only that: he “threatened” one of them to “stay with him – in Piazza Garibaldi – until” the other two “returned with the sum demanded”. After cashing out 40 euros he was convinced he had succeeded in his coup, but he ran into a gazelleWeapon. The soldiers took him to the offices of the Company town, where “he went into a rage screaming at the workers, hitting the wall with his fists and beating his chest in a threatening manner”.
At that point, arrest was inevitable also for resisting a public official in addition to violation of obligations: the measure was validated on Wednesday by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Trani, Ivan Barlafante, who confirmed his custody in prison. The 33-year-old is defended by his lawyer Michele Salvemini.
