I would like to bring to your attention a recurring and frustrating problem that I am facing with the waste collection service managed by Alea Ambiente in our municipality. Every time it is the day established for the collection of unsorted waste, my bin, like that of my neighbor, is systematically ignored and not emptied. This disruption occurs with worrying regularity, causing significant inconvenience. The collection of unsorted waste takes place once every two weeks, and every time our bins remain full. We have never received explanations from Alea Ambiente as to the reason for this omission.
It is a situation that only affects unsorted waste, since the collection of other types of waste, such as paper and plastic, takes place regularly. Reporting the problem is a long and frustrating process. You need to call the company, wait on line to speak to an operator and provide all the user details. Despite this, the resolution is not immediate and most of the time it is necessary to call several times. The company’s call center also suggests waiting for the next collection or, alternatively, personally taking the waste to the recycling center.
Meanwhile, unsorted waste remains exposed to the sun, creating odor problems. This inconvenience is added to that of having to call every time to report the issue, without ever receiving an adequate explanation or a definitive solution. I ask the editorial staff to give visibility to this problem, in the hope that media attention will encourage Alea Ambiente to improve the service offered. I am sure that other citizens are also in the same situation as me and that public intervention can help resolve the problem more quickly and definitively.
