Reggio Emilia A long Saturday of traditions and knowledge. It also returns in 2024 the traditional tortellata di San Giovanni from the Insieme per Rivalta association. On Saturday 22 June in the green area between the Le Ginestre park in the Peep area and via Conforti in Rivalta di Reggio Emilia, “The dew of San Giovanni and the tortelli della Duchessa” will be held, a gastronomic, cultural and environmental event that starts from the ancient traditions linked to the night of San Giovanni, the one between 23 and 24 June. It is the moment to collect the herbs and fruits bathed in the “magic” dew. In Emilia, one of the great classics is that of tortelli to remember the night of Saint John, on the occasion of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. From 9.30 to 12.30 and from 17 to 19.30 a photographic workshop will be held with the involvement of citizens “Pet Photography”: the group of young people aged 14 to 19 who attended the photography courses organized by Con gli eyes open and promoted by the youth center Insieme si Gioca, are now inviting citizens to pose with their animals for a beautiful photographic portrait. Whoever gives permission will see their photo displayed in an exhibition in September, during the Munn event. It will go on stage at 5pm “Fantastic tree inventory”, a workshop on the lawn to draw and talk about the Alberoteca del Parco delle Ginestre with the illustrator Giulia Imbrogli, organized by the Picnic! association. and designed for children aged 6 to 10 years. Participation is free. Also at 5pm you can join the old-fashioned wooden games for children and families and at 6pm the traveling show “RiShow!” with the Bambabambin company, organized by Associazione 5T. At 7pm it’s time for the presentation of the book “Hiking in Reggio Emilia. Stories and paths from A to Z” by Silvia Degani and Daniele Canossini.

The walk will start at 7.30pm “The Royal Palace of Rivalta yesterday and today”, with a circular route of approximately 3 km and meeting point at the Peep house. The walk will be accompanied by a historical guide and includes a taste of stretch & tone with Claudia Salsi. The return is set at 9.30pm for the aperitif. The minimum bid is 8 euros, participation is free for children up to 10 years old. Reservation is mandatory via WhatsApp message to 348/2480188. Closing at 9.30pm is Agatha Bocedi’s harp concert: “Agatha and her compositions for the harp”. And the tortelli? From 6pm you can dine with tortelli, gnocco, cured meats, Erbazzone, pizzas and chizze. The refreshment bar will be open all day. In case of bad weather the events will be moved to Sunday 23 June.
