“Our council group had asked for the reintroduction of the night connection between the city’s neighborhoods. Instead, a simulacrum of what the evening service should be was created.” This is the position of the Democratic Party’s advisory group, entrusted to a note. “The mayor’s propaganda has now reached the limits of decency – continue the councilors Martina Giannetti, Viviana Cattani, Piera Sommovigo, Dino Falugiani, Andrea Frau, Andrea Montefiori and Marco Raffaelli -. It advertises the introduction, for the summer period, for citizens and tourists, of the night circular route, i.e. a dedicated local public transport service. The mayor, strangely enough, ignores the fact that trips are skipped every day due to a lack of drivers and a ‘halter’ tender for the subcontracting of the public transport service, re-proposing a 20-year-old nightly circular, of little use except for his propaganda. Public resources spent in an at least questionable way. Meanwhile, every day, for weeks, the races have been skipped. What does it matter if public transport risks imploding from July?”.
The Dem council group continues: “The important thing is to say that everything is fine. Convey positive messages, but dissociated from reality, to citizens. We will reveal the little game, we will go on the night buses to check how much the service is used. Last year that service did not fulfill its function, being poorly attended. Citizens and tourists need an evening and night service at the level of a tourist city, not 2 buses which, at the same stop, pass every two hours”. Finally, the Democratic Party states that “to create a public transport service that is suitable and responsive to the needs of the city, resources must be committed. The absence of choices today is reducing services to a minimum. We are faced, once again, with mere propaganda. And a waste of public money.”
