In Ragusa the “Music Festival” in three days

Three days of events in Ragusa, starting from this Friday 21 June, to celebrate the “Music Festival”, an extraordinary event, promoted simultaneously throughout the world, to unite people of different cultures and languages ​​through the universal power of music. This festival transforms cities into lively stages and streets into soundscapes, allowing communities to celebrate music in all its forms and share joy and harmony. This year the city of Ragusa is preparing to experience a total of three days of pure musical magic, with events scheduled for 21, 22 and 23 June in the different areas of Ragusa Centro, Ragusa Ibla and Marina di Ragusa. As many as 45 bands from all over the province for a total of over 200 artists will perform “on the street” and on the evocative baroque balconies of the city, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere. A real record of participation as artistic director Rocco Boccadifuoco explains: “It was exciting to “beat” even the big Italian cities with these numbers of artists and bands who asked to play in our city. Special thanks go to the Municipality of Ragusa, the CCN Tre Ponti, the CCN Antica Ibla and the Proloco Mazzarelli for believing in and co-financing the event, together with all the main private sponsors”. It will therefore be a continuous celebration among notes, alleys, balconies of historic buildings. “We are sure of a large presence of music lovers of all ages and we are already recording many presences of people who are thinking of spending the weekend of June 21st, 22nd, 23rd in our beautiful province,” explains Marco Guastella of Sicilia Event , organizer of the 2024 Music Festival. In support of the event, many sponsors who helped in the promotion also with dedicated photographs, symbolically holding musical instruments. Same method also by the municipal administrators of Ragusa, who pleasantly, as done by the mayor Peppe Cassì, the municipal councilor for the historic centers Giovanni Gurrieri and the president of the municipal council, Fabrizio Ilardo, posed for a photo invitation to the city. “After immersing ourselves in books last weekend – commented the administrators – we will now immerse ourselves in music with three days that will embrace the historic centers and the coastal strip. Thanks to the organizers but above all to the many artists who will perform, giving music and emotions.”

The three-day program is packed. It starts this Thursday 21 June in Ragusa Superiore, starting from 8pm with the Soul Band, Error 404, Soulman, Vincenzo Mantello and Gusta Cuba who will liven up the evening together with Retroactive, Duettilascio, Fiammetto Poidomani, Simone Liuto, Red n Schoes and Strike Band.

On Saturday 22 June, again from 8pm, we will move to Ragusa Ibla with Tir Na Nog, Green Box, Flores de Alma and Luca Sallemi, Mare Nero, Uomo Orchestra, Kalejdo, Kamarina Street Band, Scacciadiavoli, Brothers in the Straits and the Mariele Ventre Choir of Ragusa. The evening will end with performances by Sciara and Man, all immersed in the evocative scenery of the balconies and baroque squares.

The third and final day, June 23rd, will see Marina di Ragusa become the center of the party. Starting from 6pm, Venerando and Ditommaxxi DJset, Black Bayou, Pablo Band, Good Time S and Simone Liuto will perform for the public as well as I Timidi, Sunny Small Combo, Revolution Blues Band, Son of Zion and Strike Band. The evening will also see performances by the Civica di Modica, The Biscuits Out Machines, Back in Hell and Otto Rock Band. On the seafront there will also be an extraordinary “Pattinata Sonora” with Rollers Ragusa. All concerts will be free and to make it easier for visitors, maps will be available indicating the various locations with the respective bands. The city is ready to transform into a large open-air stage.
