Livorno, young people in emergency room from the civil service: the names

A few days ago, 23 volunteer operators joined the universal civil service for the North West Tuscany Local Health Authority. The volunteers, who will be joined by three other young people starting from next July 11th, will take part in the project “Here I am: I’ll guide you to the emergency room”, active in all the territories under the jurisdiction of the ASL: Massa Carrara, Versilia, Lucca, Pisa and Livorno. “The selected young people – explains Rossana Guerrini, head of the ASL civil service – will have the task of educating patients and caregivers on the use of emergency rooms, of contributing to improving the wait for carrying out visits and diagnostic tests, of support patients and family members during the wait, to study and draw up a brochure on the importance of not abandoning the emergency room. The project, specifically, is in the area relating to emergency room abandonments, whether they occur before carrying out the medical examination and during investigations. Particular attention will be paid to welcoming and accompaniment of users, especially for the most vulnerable categories”.

The volunteers, before being inserted to support the courses in the ASL offices, will carry out a training course of 15 hours of general training, aimed at providing information on the civil service and team working methods, and 30 hours of specific training, relating to the organizational and operational methods of the structure to which the volunteers are assigned. Other hours of training are planned during the course of the service. The training program will focus, among other things, on topics such as workplace safety, privacy and data management.
