Inflatable boats stolen in the Gulf of Naples found among the rocks in Torre del Greco

During the night of 19 June, the soldiers of the Naples Air and Naval Operations Department, following a report from the Operations Room of the Provincial Command, identified two stolen boats in an inlet on the coast of Torre del Greco, cleverly hidden among the rocks. .

The operation was carried out by the crew of the internal water lookout VAI 317, recently assigned to the Neapolitan Fiamme Gialle for coastal surveillance. It is a modern naval unit with hybrid propulsion which, thanks to its silence and reduced draft, was able to operate in a body of water characterized by shallow water where the perpetrators of the theft believed they had secured the dinghys which had been stolen and had already been returned to the legitimate owners.

The phenomenon, already known to the police, was highlighted by the soldiers of the Corps to all the navies of the coast and during police checks on the crews of the mega yachts present in the various bays of the Gulf of Naples so that greater pay attention to the various tenders left unattended during the night.

A further intensification of the Marine Police services is expected in the coming weeks, given the progressive increase in recreational traffic with particular reference to the locations with a greater tourist vocation.
