There Palermo municipal council approved the containing resolution the regulation scheme for the concession of stands within the Ballarò covered marketin Piazza del Carmine.
The provision comes after yet another regulatory stalemate caused by the entry into force of the Competition Law which, in fact, blocked the procedures for assigning public areas, until the ministerial guidelines were issued following the State-Regions conference. Now, once all the favorable opinions of the offices have been obtained, the act will be sent to the City Council for approval.
“A long and troubled history – declares thecouncilor for Productive Activities Giuliano Forzinetti – which begins in 2019, following the approval of an urban planning variant that allowed the construction of the Market structure. Since we took office we have looked into the issue in depth and have noticed some defects in legitimacy, also ascertained by the offices of the Accounting Office and the General Secretariat. After the initial regulatory impasse, by examining the issue with all the offices involved, whom I thank for their work, we deemed it appropriate to proceed with the application of the Wholesale Markets Law (125/1959). In this way we give clear and immediate rules for the concession of stands to all the operators involved who have been waiting for a clear answer for too long“.
