“Safety and unitary vision of Valdarno”, the appeal of Confartigianato

With the local and European elections behind us, the time has come to materialize the needs expressed by the Arezzo Valdarno.

“We take this opportunity to make an appeal to the newly elected members”, he comments Daniele Beligni, president of the Valdarno Area of Confartigianato Imprese Arezzo. “We make a very clear appeal to the new mayors: Valdarno is an area rich in resources and opportunities, but it is necessary to focus the spotlight on certain issues that require particular interest from the institutions”, underlines Beligni.

“The requests come directly from the Committee of Economic Categories which in Valdarno includes all the trade associations present in the Valley and which jointly managed the meetings with all the candidates for mayor of the Valdarno municipalities called for administrative renewal. What we ask for – he explains – is to support an overall vision of Valdarno. Ours is a unitary territory, like an extended city that needs planned and unitary support”.

What the vast territory has in common is a strong artisan and industrial vocation. “The fashion sector, and specifically the related industries of artisan SMEs, is experiencing a very delicate transition in this period and as we have already had the opportunity to illustrate to the various institutions, immediate and ready solutions are needed to support an economic segment that is driving the entire local economy. For this reason we ask the mayors for unity to carry forward the requests that have been raised by the categories”, comments Daniele Beligni.

“We also put the urgent need for safety for citizens and companies first. It is essential that the police forces are increased in order to deal with a situation that risks getting out of hand. The daily news puts us face to face with problems that are no longer marginal”, explains Beligni.

Then there is the age-old chapter of roads, for an area with a strong productive vocation there is a need to create and complete infrastructural works to facilitate road traffic. “We expect the works connected to the third lane of the motorway to be completed in a short time, companies cannot bear the price of a delay which consequently makes them less competitive. For the homogeneous growth of the territory, we expect – concludes Beligni – a synergy between the municipalities for the sharing of structural plans, all this to respond to the first point of our appeal, namely the need for a unitary vision of Valdarno”.
