In implementation of the plan prepared by the Prefecture of Ferrara, on the afternoon of 17 June 2024, a new extraordinary joint intervention was launched by all the Police Forces.
The control operation affected the areas surrounding Pontelagoscuro, Cassana and the surrounding areas, involving patrols of agents and soldiers from the Police Headquarters, the “Terre Estensi” Local Police Force, the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri and the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza .
The activities were aimed at identifying illegal situations in the immediate vicinity of the aforementioned areas, with particular attention to the identification of individuals involved in predatory crimes and drug dealing. During the interventions, 5 checkpoints were carried out, a total of 56 cars were checked and 2 fines were issued for violations of the Highway Code. Furthermore, 68 people were checked, of which 5 were foreign nationals and 1 with a police record. The operations were also conducted with the precious support of the local police dog unit.
The joint activity falls within the framework of the initiatives that the Prefecture of Ferrara has launched in collaboration with all the Police Forces present in the area, in order to guarantee legality in the various neighborhoods of the city of Ferrara and in the hamlets, through a synergistic action to prevent predatory and drug-related crimes, as well as all possible manifestations of illegality.
