A huge confiscation of properties, insurance policies, current accounts, company shares, investment funds and vehicles, worth around 7 million euros, was carried out by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Piacenza against a person convicted of 416 bis of the criminal code believed to belong to Cosa Nostra, “Rinzivillo” clan of Gela (CL), resident in the province of Piacenza.
Confiscation, unlike seizure which has a provisional precautionary nature, consists in the definitive deprivation of assets.
CONFISCATED ASSETS
It is a villa with swimming pool, 100% of the corporate shares of two companies operating in the construction field, three bank accounts, a mutual investment fund and nine vehicles.
Most of the assets had already been seized in February 2022, now it was a matter of confiscation, i.e. the execution of the ablative provision that allowed the acquisition in favor of the State Treasury.
THE INVESTIGATIONS
“The investigations, conducted by the Information Unit of the Operational Department of Piacenza, with the coordination of the DDA of Bologna, found clear confirmation and confirmation in the meeting in the council chamber of the Court of Caltanissetta – we read in the Carabinieri press release – held to decide regarding the patrimonial prevention measure of confiscation against the convict believed to belong to the “Rinzivillo” clan, who together with his family members had accumulated over the years assets that were absolutely disproportionate to their sources of income”.
CONFISCATION
The staff of the Operations Department – Information Unit of Piacenza, last week, together with the interested territorial colleagues, in the province of Piacenza, in Gela (CL), Empoli (FI), Garlasco (PV), Bareggio (MI) and Cornaredo (MI ), proceeded with the execution of the decree which had been issued a few days earlier by the Court of Caltanissetta.
