Viale Giulio Cesare, a summer of construction sites

Presentation press conference, on the afternoon of Wednesday 19 June, of construction sites that will affect the Viale Giulio Cesare area during the summer. «They mark the beginning of an intense period that will last until the end of 2026, as regards the construction sites linked to the PNRR, and which will continue beyond with other large projects», he explained the mayor Elena Carnevali.

«A period to be managed – he says – offering citizens solutions that are necessary from time to time, but also helping them to look at the advantages that the works bring to everyone’s lives. We will try to put every tool to offer the widest possible communication, open dialogue with citizens is fundamental. Like the choice not to change the timing of the execution of the three construction sites, and therefore to maintain their concomitance, he responds to the desire to concentrate the discomfort in the shortest possible time».

Details on the three construction sites

From June 20th to August 31st It will be closed the stretch of viale Giulio Cesare between via Tito Livio/Legrenzi and via Finardi, to allow the works to adapt the route of the former Brembana valley railway, where the T2 tram line will pass. Once Viale Giulio Cesare has been opened, the works will continue in the area below without disturbing road traffic.

From June 24th to July 5th, Viale Giulio Cesare will be closed in the stretch between via Pietri/via del Lazzaretto and at the entrance to via largo dello Sport. Here the stadium trusses will be prepared and positioned, replacing the existing light towers today.

From 24 June to 31 August, however, it will be the turn of the A2A construction site for district heating. In three phases. From the 24th to the 30th there will be a total closure of the entrance and exit of via Nazario Sauro on piazzale Oberdan. From July 1st to 7th, the total closure of the entrance and exit of viale Giulio Cesare on piazzale Oberdan. From 8 to 31 July, however, the outgoing direction of travel will be closed viale Giulio Cesare in the stretch between piazzale Oberdan and via del Lazzaretto; in this section only entry into the city in the direction of Piazzale Oberdan will be guaranteed.

For the entire period, all vehicles will be allowed to transit in via Suardi, in the stretch between via Noli and the intersection with via F.lli Bronzetti, along the preferential bus lane for those coming from the center towards the suburbs.
