Cammarano, Internal Areas Commission: «We are collecting input from Benevento to formulate a national law proposal»

“Our dialogue with agricultural entrepreneurs, the main trade unions and sector associations continues, with the aim of collecting the necessary inputs to be able to operate effectively at a regional level and to formulate a national law proposal that we will present to the government. The law, which will represent a crucial step for the future of inland areas, aims to respond to the specific needs of these communities. There is great sensitivity on the part of regional politics and I am sure that this is the right time to act and make significant improvements. We are aware of the importance of this topic and the need for concrete interventions. For this reason we will continue to work closely with all the actors involved, in order to guarantee attention and resources to the internal areas”.

The president of the Internal Areas commission declares Michele Cammarano on the sidelines of the hearing with agricultural entrepreneurs and trade unions at the headquarters of the Province of Benevento, which saw the participation of the President of the Province of Benevento, representatives of Coldiretti, Confagricoltura, CIA, University of Sannio, University of Salerno, National Rural Network (CREA), Snai Fortore and Snai Tammaro Titerno.

“We listened carefully to the concerns and proposals of the participants, recognizing the importance of an open and constructive dialogue for the success of the agricultural sector. We are convinced that only through active collaboration and constant sharing of knowledge and resources will we be able to guarantee a prosperous future for agriculture in our provinces.” This was stated by the vice-president of the Labor commission and member of the Internal Areas commission Erasmo Mortaruolo.

“Integrating local resources with emerging economic opportunities is crucial for the sustainable development of rural communities. The introduction of photovoltaic energy represents a significant opportunity: it not only diversifies sources of income but also contributes to the creation of sustainable wealth, anchored to the territory and less dependent on external economies. This approach not only improves local conditions, but also aligns Benevento with European standards of sustainable energy development.” Declares the secretary of the Internal Areas commission Luigi Abbate.

“Thanks to this initiative, internal areas, for too long considered only in terms of emergency, can seize the opportunity to receive adequate investments. It is essential that clear, authoritative and high-quality projects are defined, capable of promoting development that is truly consistent with the characteristics of the small communities of our territory. Investing in internal areas means recognizing their value and potential, promoting initiatives that not only improve the quality of life of residents but also attract visitors and investors. An integrated approach is needed that involves all sectors, creating synergies between agriculture, tourism, culture and the environment.” This is what Gennarino Masiello, National Vice President of Coldiretti, says.

“Confagricoltura Benevento is firmly convinced that the internal areas are a real opportunity for the central-southern regions and Campania in particular. Mistakes have been made in the past but today, through infrastructure, innovation and financial instruments, internal areas will necessarily have to find synthesis. The ability to aggregate can be a tool for creating critical mass for a territory that is not used to being united. Finally, we proposed that agritourism activities should no longer be considered simple connected activities but one with agricultural activity”. The president of Confagricoltura Benevento Antonio Casazza declares.

“To stop the hemorrhaging of young people’s depopulation, the priorities must be excellent quality healthcare, the protection of the right to education and a secondary road network that is not dilapidated. We must focus on the role of young people, starting from the base and the agricultural vocation of our territory. For this reason I also consider training to be fundamental, putting our experience at the service of the kids.” Concludes the president of Cia Benevento Carmine Fusco.
