Lamezia Terme – After the Sacal assembly which approved an investment plan for 270 million euros with a capital increase of 75 million, the recapitalization will have to be carried out by September 30th. An aspect that naturally also concerns the Municipality of Lamezia Terme, where one of the 12 most important airports in the country is located. According to initial rumours, the intentions of the municipal body appear to be not to proceed with the recapitalization, within its jurisdiction. A decision, it seems, which would not only concern the Administration of Lamezia, but also Catanzaro and other Municipalities. Again according to what we have learned, these would be exorbitant figures and would still put the Municipalities in a position of minority compared to the capital of Fincalabra-Regione Calabria. The question that organizations ask themselves is: is it worth it? Given that today, essentially, there is a shareholder who has the absolute majority? Fincalabria-Regione Calabria, i.e. a majority exceeding 70%, also in recapitalization. Ergo, why subtract resources for the development of the city in terms of strengthening and other various services, from road maintenance, to the creation of new infrastructures, to the improvement of public lighting, etc? In short, why invest millions when you will always remain in a condition of subordination to the decisions of the absolute and not relative majority shareholder? The reasoning around Via Perugini would be this. Again from reliable sources, however, we are aware that the Municipality of Lamezia Terme exercises its prerogative in Sacal regardless of the percentage, because the Municipality will always remain the territorial body where the airport is located.
