Aversa (Caserta) – Large fire in a “Rascato” building material warehouse, in Viale Europa, in the Borgo di Aversa area. A dense blanket of black smoke, also visible from the city of Naples, invaded the entire surrounding area, creating many inconveniences for the resident population.
To put out the fire and contain the flames which also affected two apartments in the immediate vicinity of the warehouse, the fire brigade arrived on site with six teams: two from the Caserta headquarters, one from the Aversa detachment, one from Marcianise and three from the commands of Benevento, Naples and Avellino. Also in support were three tankers from Caserta and one from Benevento, a ladder truck from the Avellino command, a car protector and also an airport vehicle from the Salerno command.
The provincial commander, engineer Paolo Massimi, also arrived on site to coordinate the firefighting operations. Investigations are underway to establish the causes of the fire by the Red Helmets Judicial Police unit. No people were injured.
Previous – Already last year, in February 2023, a similar fire occurred inside the same warehouse (read here), although smaller in size as it was contained in a short time by the firefighters. As well as another fire that occurred ten years earlier.
