The beautiful international regatta for classic boats, all made of wood and built in the twentieth century, returns to the Gulf of Naples. Races also in Ischia and during the races there will be the Navy Ship Palinuro in Naples which can be visited
From 19 to 23 June 2023 the twenty-first edition of “Le Vele d’Epoca in Naples”, the beautiful international regatta for classic boatsentirely made of wood and built in the twentieth centuryno later than 1975.
Le Vele d’Epoca is organized by Royal Yacht Club Rowing Savoytogether with the Circolo Nautico Punta Imperatore, and is an extraordinary regatta which this year becomes part of the CIM Circuit (Comité International de Méditerranée), a championship whose stages include the regattas of Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, Palma, Mahon, Barcellona, Argentario and Imperia.
After the great success of last year’s edition, which also took place in Caprithis year “Le Vele d’Epoca in Naples” they arrive this year for the first time Marina of Forio d’Ischialanding place of the Punta Imperatore Nautical Club, where the boats will arrive on Tuesday 18 June 2024.
The program of the regattas in the Gulf of Naples
After the registrations and measurement checks on Wednesday 19 June the sports program will begin at 9.30 on Thursday 20 June on the terrace of the CN Punta Imperatore with the flag raising ceremony and then at 11:30 the first regatta starts. On Friday 21st there will be another regatta on the green island and Saturday 22 the Vintage Sails they will move to Naples, at the end of a coastal regatta and will moor in the afternoon Santa Lucia marinawhere there will be some awards ceremonies at 7pm.
Sunday 23 June do not miss the parade of elegance at 10 am in the gulf and the coastal regatta that will bring the boats back to Ischia.
Also in Naples is the Palinuro ship
The regattas are organized collaboratively with the Navy and it is expected the arrival in the gulf of the Palinuro ship which will be anchored near Forio d’Ischia on Thursday 20th. The Palinuro will then be docked at the Maritime Station of the port of Naples from 20 to 25 June 2024 and can be visited.
