Autonomy, the mayor of Treviso, Mario Conte: “Cultural and administrative revolution” | Today Treviso | News

TREVISO The mayor of Treviso Mario Conte expresses satisfaction with the approval of the bill on differentiated autonomy in the Chamber confirmed last night with 172 yes votes, 99 votes against and 1 abstention. “A page of history has been written that rewards the commitment of Minister Calderoli, the president of the Zaia Region and the regional secretary of the Lega Stefani – states Conte – Differentiated Autonomy is responsibility and efficiency, as well as a cultural and administrative revolution (expected moreover by the Constitution) which must motivate everyone to manage resources according to virtuous models”.

“The Veneto – concludes Conte – has always done its part and will continue to do so. I, as president of Anci Veneto, represent 560 Venetian mayors who have all their accounts in order. There is not a municipality in the Veneto that is in bankruptcy financial, this means that the culture of good governance and sensitivity towards our citizens is part of our DNA. This is what autonomy means. Those who fear it mean that they are used to asking for help from Rome and are not used to rolling up their sleeves Now we are ready for this challenge. It is necessary for everyone to be convinced that the country, in order to grow, must start from the good administration of the territories”.

Satisfaction also expressed by the president of the‘Union of the Provinces of Veneto, Stefano Marcon: “Finally the Autonomy that we have been waiting for for a long time here in Veneto becomes a reality, because the path forward is officially opened with clarity to guarantee greater administrative autonomy to the Regions, simplify bureaucratic steps that are currently limiting and, above all, recognize the efficiency of the our entities, enhancing their management capacity in their local area. In this great victory for Autonomy, the Provinces also play a fundamental role at a local level, as intermediary bodies of strategic importance between the Region and the Municipalities. The emergence of a profile of differentiated autonomy, which gives value to the peculiarities of each territory is a signal of how the need for specific coordination between the various territorial levels is recognised, in compliance with the constitutional principle of subsidiarity”.
