PESCARA – The sailing event that takes its name from the color of rosé wine, the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Cup, was presented yesterday in the Pescara Marina, the successful sailing event that marries the world of wine with the sea and the sport of sailing, organized by Circolo Nautical Pescara 2018.
Having reached its third edition this year, Cerasuolo proposes the proven formula of three days of events, scheduled this weekend from 21st to 23rd June, and two sea regatta operations (Saturday and Sunday) between Montesilvano, Pescara and Ortona with over 30 Deep-sea and mini-sea boats coming from
sailing clubs from Abruzzo but also from the Marche. It starts on Friday evening with the raising of the flag and the Italian anthem accompanied by the classic Cerasuolo-based aperitif, then on Saturday the start of the sailing trip which will start from the Marina di Pescara tourist port and continue towards Francavilla up to Ortona where the buoy is positioned around the which the boats will have to turn to return to Pescara. Second regatta between Pescara and Montesilvano on Sunday, where the boats will be clearly visible from the beaches. The events on land dedicated to sailors are based on typical products and washed down with the inevitable Cerasuolo doc, a
fresh and summery wine increasingly loved by connoisseurs, supplied by the wineries belonging to the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo which has supported the event since the first year. Fixed appointments for the crews are the photographic contest and the master class on Cerasuolo (also extendable to friends and family) on Saturday evening to which this year a touch of art is added with the creation of an impromptu painting by 10 artists from the “Collettivo Itinerante” and “Le Muse” associations who on Saturday will test themselves with brushes and colors on the theme “sea, wind, sails and…cerasuolo” (Angela Di Teodoro, Ercolina Delle Monache, Patrizia Amoretti, Plinio Meriggiola , Rosa Maria Brandimarte, Sabina D’Alfonso, Sabrina Talarico, Stefania Ponziani, Stefano Schiazza, Valentini Vally).
Then on Sunday the winners of the regattas and at the end of the event will be given a painting, which adds to the Challenger Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Cup trophies for the first place in corrected time, AUTOSTAR Cup for the first in real time and 1st CNP Trophy, in addition to the category awards. On Saturday evening everyone will meet for a convivial dinner at the Osea restaurant with dessert offered by the master pastry chef Federico Anzellotti of Emozioni Italiane while on Sunday Pasta Party with Rustichella d’Abruzzo.
The 3rd Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Cup – 1st CNP Trophy was presented on the terrace of the 2018 Circolo Nautico in the tourist port by a large audience of organisers, authorities and sponsors. «We are in the most beautiful Marina in the Adriatic – said the president of CNP2018 Alessandro Pavone – and our commitment is to enhance it and make it known. By combining the sport of sailing with wine we are also able to promote the Abruzzo region in a successful way as demonstrated by the turnout at the Cerasuolo event.” Franco D’Eusanio, vice president of the Consorzio Tutela Vini, is also convinced of this and underlined how intriguing the pairing of pink wine with the sea and summer is, praising the Abruzzo DOC product capable of pairing with many dishes, including aperitifs. Compliments came from the councilor for sport Patrizia Martelli who defined the Circolo Nautico as a big family that is making the love for sailing grow by combining the promotion of the territory while the councilor for Mobility Luigi Mascia wanted to underline the winning culture of union between clubs and with sponsors, essential for the success of the events. Words of encouragement also from the vice president of FIV IX Abruzzo and Molise area as well as from Coni Abruzzo Alessandra Berghella and from the director of the Pescara Marina Bruno Santori: «With the rebirth of the Sailing Club the tourist port is even more alive, not only thanks to boating but also with the social and territorial events it organises. The Marina is a container that needs initiatives like this.”
