This year too, Ruvo di Puglia celebrates the “International Music Day” and does so in collaboration with the Pro Loco UNPLI Ruvo di Puglia and with three events scheduled for Friday 21 June.

It starts at 7.30pm from the small square in front of the tourist infopoint with a performance by young musicians from the NEUMA Giandonato Association, directed by maestro Rocco Di Rella.

We continue at 8pm in the Ex Dominican Convent where – as part of the festival The dancers en plein air of the Menhir Company directed by Giulio De Leo – the performance entitled Mediterraneo Incanto will be held by the Michele Cantatore Polyphonic Choir directed by Angelo Anselmi .

At 9pm, thanks to the extraordinary opening of the Jatta National Museum, live concert in the courtyard of the palace by Vaggelis Gettos and Gilberto Bufi, also guests of the Le dancers en plein air festival.

Following this, the performance Music beyond borders will be held in Piazza Menotti Garibaldi as part of the Ruvo Coro Festival, a musical encounter between Indian and European culture with Michele Di Modugno, dr. Mysore Manjunath, Sumath Manjunath, Neyveli Venkatesh.

This evening brings the city into the heart of the summer programming of the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia – Department of Culture and Tourism which, after the events last May dedicated to theater and childhood and adolescence (May to Childhood and time of the little ones), Rerum Rubis Carafa and the legend, Rose and Rosati and the patronal feast of the Ottavario, will be characterized by the space reserved for great international dance and music with the three festivals currently scheduled.

In fact, the summer section of the Ruvo Coro Festival kicked off on Tuesday 11 June with Natalia Abbascià’s homage to the Ruvo poet Pietro Stragapede. An extremely varied program with seven concerts between June, July and August, all with free admission in various places in the city. The event curated by maestro Angelo Anselmi this year too will be a journey through musical genres, from light symphonic music with the concert of the Orchestra of the Metropolitan City of Bari, to ethnofolk, from rock to jazz without of course forgetting opera singing and the polyphonic choral one.

The 2024 edition of the Le Danzatrici en plein air festival officially starts on Thursday 20th and will bring some of the most significant experiences of contemporary dance in Europe and the Mediterranean to Ruvo di Puglia until 7th July with a dense program (around forty events and twelve days of shows in three weeks) and of prestige which will see performances by companies and dancers also coming from Lebanon, Greece and Germany, together with the many local communities participating in the actions and workshops that have already been taking place for months between schools and associations .

As usual, Talos Festival will conclude the summer program with a 2024 edition which already promises to be extremely interesting with the first previews: on 6 September an original production of the festival with a surprising collaboration between Erlend Oye, founder of Kings of Convenience, and the Banda Talos Città di Ruvo di Puglia and on Saturday 7 September the concert by Daniele Silvestri opened by Casadilego. The complete programming is being defined by the Municipality’s partner, the Bass Culture company.
