The great judo was present from 11th to Sunday 16th June at the Playhall in Riccione and hosted the International Judo Training Camp. The Green Camp is an international stage with 1,400 athletes (and around 300 coaches), authorized by Fijlkam, the Italian Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts Federation
Also present in Riccione was the man who is considered the strongest judoka of all time: Shohei Ono (born in 1992), Japanese national team who was triple world champion (2013, 2015 and 2019) and double Olympic champion (2016, 2021). who held lessons for the many athletes present and arriving from all over the world. Also present were Sugoi Uriarte, world silver medalist, European champion and coach of the Spanish national team, and Jenny Gal, Dutch naturalized Italian, Olympic bronze medalist, world silver medalist and European gold medalist. The Fijlkam president for Judo Giuseppe Matera was also present at the event.
In this context, three judokas from Piacenza were summoned by the FIJLKAM Regional Committee for this very important event: Francesca Trongone, Asia and Thomas Sassi. The latter is undergoing specific technical preparation because he has been called up to compete in the 2024 European Judo Championships with the national youth team. All those called up belong to the Judo Shiai club of Piacenza. Furthermore, other judokas from Piacenza from Judo Shiai Piacenza were able to participate in this very important event: Alex and Loris D’Aguanno, Mia Mandas, Flaminia Guarnieri and Nicolò Abategiovanni. The commitment of the judokas of via Fulgosio remains very high and continue to tread the tatamis of the international Judo scene.
