New arrival at Forlì. Francesco Menarini, since yesterday, is officially a red and white player. Forlì Calcio director Cristiano Protti, satisfying the request of coach Alessandro Miramari, signed the internal pivot of Corticella’s midfield last season. Born in Bentivoglio, in the Bologna area, on 17 June 1997, Menarini started out in Bologna’s youth teams, playing 13 games, with one goal, in the Primavera team of the rossoblù club between 2014 and 2016.
The following year (2016-17) the midfielder made his debut as an under in Serie D in the ranks of the Piedmontese side Bra with one appearance, and then moved, in the middle of the championship, to Mezzolara, still in the fourth series, taking to the field in two seasons and a half in 59 matches, with three goals, between 2017 and 2019. In the following two tournaments Menarini remained in the Bologna area wearing the Progresso shirt, also in Serie D, collecting 43 tokens, with another three goals scored.
The leap in quality of the Bolognese midfielder in the recently concluded season, as mentioned, under the orders of mister Alessandro Miramari in the Corticella, playing all 36 championship matches with the biancazzurri, with the addition of three goals and with the qualification for the playoff final then lost 2-1, then against Ravenna after winning the semi-final 2-1 over Victor San Marino. In total, Francesco Menarini has made 142 appearances throughout his career in Serie D, with the addition of 9 goals.
The midfielder is, at the moment, the second purchase made available on Mr. Miramari’s board after the arrival, announced last week, of the 28-year-old striker Davide Macrì taken from Serie D Follonica Gavorrano. The negotiation that will also bring wearing red and white is midfielder Francesco Campagna, born in 2000, who in the recently concluded season actively contributed to the salvation of Sammaurese with the beauty of 8 goals scored in the 29 matches played.
Apparently, there would be other elements in the sights of the red and white club last season on the pitch with Corticella, starting with the striker Nicola Farinelli, born in 2001, and continuing with the midfielder Precious Amayah (2001), both obviously already aware of the game offensive preached by the new coach of the red and white first team.
On the corporate front, the rumored negotiation for the purchase of the red and white property, in which an unknown consortium from Campania is said to have recently been interested, now appears to have to be definitively consigned to the archives. A possibility never confirmed, although never denied, by the top management of the Viale Roma company which, therefore, will remain in the hands of president Gianfranco Cappelli and his deputy Marco Casadei.
