With the summer period approaching which coincides with a greater number of hospitalizations, particularly for elderly people, Cisal Sanità Irpinia, through a press note from the provincial secretariat, reports some problems related to the lack of OSS type personnel.

“Already in the months of May and this June 2024, as a union, we have forwarded several communications addressed to the General Director, Medical Director and the other management bodies of the Moscati Hospital aimed at reporting what we believe to be a shortage in the OSS staff. This lack of staff inevitably leads to inconvenience for patients. In our opinion, it would be necessary to include at least 100 units which would be those missing compared to the budgeted workforce. We have also proposed to launch an expression of interest aimed at filling these positions in a short time, also putting forward a hypothesis of reorganizing the staff into three shifts and pointing out the critical issues that in our opinion are found in some departments where the operators are understaffed and therefore it becomes difficult to guarantee shifts. On 14 June we were informed that a meeting with a working group would be held to address the problem tomorrow 19 June only to be subsequently informed that this meeting had been cancelled. To date we are awaiting responses from the Management in a short time otherwise we will be forced to call a state of agitation in order to be able to give value to our claim”.
