Avellino, “Music Festival 2024” at the Cimarosa Conservatory

The Domenico Cimarosa Conservatory of Music organized the Music Festival 2024 which will be held on June 21st and 22nd.

The main objective of the Music Festival is to promote music as an art form and as a means of social aggregation, stimulating the creativity and active participation of citizens. It is an opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity and highlight the importance of music in everyday life.

The city university, led by Maestro Maria Gabriella Della Sala, also joins the global celebrations this year, which will be held in those days in over 120 countries and in more than 700 cities around the world.

Two days of music with performances by Cimarosa students and teachers 4 locations : Cimarosa Conservatory (Auditorium “Vincenzo Vitale”, Court of the Conservatory and Aula Magna “Mario Cesa”), Bellizzi Prison, Monumental Bourbon Prison Complex, Piazza Castello.

For the first time Piazza Castello will be the protagonist of two special evenings curated by Cimarosa. The June 21stat 9.00pmthe School of Electronic Music will present «Cross Gate», an innovative concert with real-time videomapping: a fascinating fusion of sounds and images that will transform Piazza Castello into a unique sensorial experience.

The June 22ndalways at 9.00pmthe Jazz School will liven up the square with a concert that promises to involve and excite the public with its vibrant sounds.

The «D. Cimarosa” invites all citizens to participate in these days of celebration, music and culture, underlining the importance of music as a universal language that unites and enriches the community.

The events will range from Sax to Strings, from Wind Instruments to Guitars from Electronic Music to Accordions.

A tribute is planned to Maurizio Pollini with repertoires for solo and 4-hand piano performed by students of the Conservatory, with video projections of interviews and historical extracts on his artistic activity.
