CIVITAVECCHIA -“This morning, a summary of the last 10 days of activity of the outgoing council was published in the press. A few days before the vote, one would have expected ordinary and respectful management of the democratic process. Instead, an administration that stood out for its inactivity – culminating in 7 reshuffles – suddenly decided to involve the city with works worth around 15 million euros, all in project financing, and with irregular and unfeasible planning.

Without forgetting the controversial three-year extension for the management of Pala Galli, which caused a hemorrhage of candidates in Grasso’s coalition.

It is particularly alarming that these resolutions were approved in the absence of both the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor, with the sole participation of councilors close to the candidate Grasso or even candidates on his lists. This situation raises legitimate questions: are these not the usual last minute “political favors”?

While we ask ourselves this question, we are certain that citizens will be wondering if they really want this type of administration for Civitavecchia: an administration that takes decisions of this magnitude just 10 days after the vote, without the slightest public discussion and with the absence of the most important institutional figures.

We trust – indeed, we are sure – that on Sunday 23rd, our fellow citizens will be able to send a clear and unequivocal message to this “political class”, relegating it to the opposition benches”
