Venice, 18 June 2024. Nicki Cherry is guest of the fifth appointment of An Afternoon with…, a series of meetings between the artists part of the collective Hovering and the Venetian public.
Nicki, whose two sculptures commissioned for the exhibition are visible in the spaces of Capsule Venice, will introduce her artistic practice, will be available for an informal Q&A and for a guided tour with the curator Manuela Lietti. The event will be held on June 21st at 4 pm.

Nicki Cherry is an artist who lives and works between New York and Chicago. Nicki’s sculptures, made of glass resin and concrete, incorporate systems of growth, elements of decay and rebirth – tulips bloom from elongated tendrils, ceramic bodies leak milky fluids, spine-shaped candles burn and diffuse scent. Cherry’s work thus unfolds the dimension linked to embarrassment, discomfort and the absurd that derives from the physicality and carnality of the body.
