The biggest stage for the cyclists of tomorrow ends today. The Giro Next Gen he has already reached the last stage, the eighth. In Forlimpopoli another chapter in the history of the youth movement will close, while those who have to observe the young promises have got an idea on who to bet on. Here are the details of the last fraction.

Path

137 kilometers and 2005 meters of altitude difference: this is the menu of the stage that will start from Cesena and it will come in Forlimpopoli. Not exactly a celebratory catwalk for Jarno Widar, but let’s immediately see what the route will be characterized by.

11 kilometers from the start the first climb: to get to Hundred you will have to climb 4.8 kilometers at 3.5%. There will then be 1900 very hard meters at an average gradient of 9.8%, to then climb steadily up to the Gpm of Strigara (3.8 kilometers at 3.2%). It will go down to Borello for the flying finish line, you will go up to Formignano (Gpm of 2.7 kilometers at 7.8%) and then we will move on to the finish line in Forlimpopoli to enter the final circuit of approximately 17 kilometres. This includes the ascent of Bertinoro (2.7 kilometers at 5.8%) to be repeated four times, after which there will be the last finish of this edition of the Giro Next Gen.

Favorites

Nespoli he is only one point away from the blue jersey of best climber, he is very close to winning the Mountain Grand Prix classification: today he has to do something. Barring any last-minute surprises, Jarno Widar he shouldn’t have any problems keeping his pink jersey or even the white jersey of best young player – it’s from 2005.

Looking at the Italian athletes, it could certainly be a Filippo path Helpful who will not miss the last chance to break away in the Giro: for him, who was born in 2002, it is also the last time he can run the pink race dedicated to the Under 23s.

Also worth keeping an eye on Christian Bagatin who, once he has tackled all four climbs of the final circuit, has a good chance of winning a sprint with his possible breakaway companions. The same goes for Edoardo Zamperini.
