Dario Fo’s “funny mystery” is a theatrical masterpiece that will be presented in a very successful interpretation by Matthias Martelli tomorrow at 8pm at the Cittadella degli Artisti in Molfetta directed by Eugenio Allegri. A revival signed by the Teatro Stabile of Turin with over 200 performances in Italy and around the world, from Rome to London, from Milan to Brussels, passing through Zurich, Nice, Munich and Los Angeles.
Funny Mystery it is considered Dario Fo’s masterpiece: the actor is alone on stage, without tricks, with the intention of involving the audience in the dramatic action, passing in a flash from comic joke to poetry, up to human and social tragedy. A new and original language and interpretation, in the tradition of a genre used by medieval jesters to overturn the triumphant ideology of the time by demonstrating its groundlessness.
Matthias Martelli, actor, playwright, jester, writes and performs several monologues for important Italian Teatri Stabili, among these “Raphael, the son of the wind” (2020) show on the life of the painter Raffaello Sanzio co-produced by Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria; And “Dante, among the flames and the stars” (2021), in which the story of Dante’s life intersects with fragments of the Vita nuova and the Divine Comedy. From 2022 he will bring it to the stage of Italian theaters “Fred!”, a show based on the work of Fred Buscaglione directed by Arturo Brachetti, produced by Enfi Teatro – Teatro Parioli and Teatro Stabile di Torino. He won the Alberto Sordi, Locomix and Uanmensvò awards with Il “Mercante di Monologhi” (2017) which he wrote and performed, with over 300 performances under its belt.
