Yet another ordinance by Mayor Giacomo Ghilardi against the sale of alcohol in the evening hours in some areas of the city continues to be discussed. The council speaks of “perceived insecurity” and continues with its policy of bans and urban bans especially in the summer months. A choice not shared by the left.
“The ordinances intend to limit the abuse of alcohol and the presence everywhere of potentially dangerous containers which cause, together with other behaviors, inconvenience in the areas of via Libertà (porticos and gardens), between via Cadorna and Piazza Turati, and viale Rinascita.
The council, however, does not seem to see the cumbersome discomfort present in other areas of the city where, alongside the phenomena highlighted, there is also a constant activity of drug dealing, such as in Piazza Costa (not far from viale Rinascita), the entire neighborhoods of Crocetta and Sant’Eusebio, the supermarket car park between via Paisiello and via Monte Grappa and, finally, the very central via Cavour”, attack Alleanza Verdi-Sinistra and Città Giusta in a note.
“Ghilardi’s security, it seems, continues to be selective. Not only are the suburbs ignored but when we go to act in the center we prefer to attack the shops run by immigrants rather than attack the new drug dealing places created by local organized crime”, states the note which continues: “In short, Ghilardi still proves to be strong with the weak and weak with the strong. How much longer will Cinisello have to be governed like this? Rather than acting like a sheriff, this Mayor should think about increasing the number of waste bins in the city, taking care of the lawns in the parks and improving the maintenance of the roads given the recent appearances of potholes both in the centre, in via Garibaldi, and in the external areas, such as in via Gorki in front of Bassini. Security is a broad concept that must be monitored in every aspect: from the underworld to the greenery in the city.”
“Furthermore, the grass in the municipal parks has not been cut for months and the bins in the city streets are overflowing and often surrounded by the rubbish that citizens are forced to leave around. The municipal houses are left to themselves like the condominium in via Martiri Palestinesi where the grass in the gardens has become as tall as a 3 year old child, the doors are broken, the car park has a bar that doesn’t work and anyone can enter to park while the cellars always have their doors open and are still full of soot and the walls of the building are still black from the fire almost a year ago. Finally, in Bettola, one of the areas so dear to the Mayor when he was a municipal councillor, real landfills have been created around the new roundabouts created near the construction site of the future terminus of the M1-M5″, concludes the left.
