Music festival, affection, a pinch of green thumb and Clara Sereni competition: events in the library in Perugia

PERUGIA – Municipal libraries of Perugia ready to open to a new week of events between Pincetto, Monteripido, San Sisto, Ponte San Giovanni and on tour with the Bibliobus. Among others, literary presentations, art therapy, reading aloud for children, film club, music lab and presentation of the ten published fiction books participating in the fifth edition of the literary prize dedicated to Clara Sereni. Also events on the occasion of the XX June celebrations and the Music Festival.

The appointments began at Arconi Library of via della Rupe Monday 17 June at 10am with the Onda libera reading group.

Wednesday 19 June at 10.30 presentation of the ten published fiction books participating in the fifth edition of the literary prize named after the writer Clara Sereni, introduction and readings by the volunteers of the Cirolo LaAv Perugia. The finalist works: “Tangerinn” (E/O) by Emanuela Anechoum, “Signora Meraviglia” (Sellerio) by Saba Anglana, “L’età fragili” (Einaudi) by Donatella Di Pietrantonio, “Poverina” (Blackie) by Chiara Galeazzi , “The reputation” (Guanda) by Ilaria Gaspari, “Alma” (Feltrinelli) by Federica Manzon, “The house of the white orphans (Laurana) by Fiammetta Palpati, “Selvaggia e sospera e forte” (La Nave di Teseo) by Laura Pariani, “The surname of women” (Feltrinelli) by Aurora Tamigio, “The days of glass” (Einaudi) by Nicoletta Verna.
At 5.30pm “Water and fish” readings aloud for children from 0 to 6 years old by Maria Grazia De Martiis.

Thursday 20 June at 10.30 “I am poetry” thematic meeting in search of the internal poetic language in resonance with the major poets of literature curated by Maria Grazia Lazzaro.

Saturday 22 June at 4pm “Loving Summer Workshop”, free laboratory on affectivity aimed at people with intellectual disabilities and atypical development and their parents. Introduced by Stefano Federici (professor of general psychology and disability psychology at the University of Perugia), a team of psychologists and educators coordinated by Elena A. Russo and Maria Elena Rossler intervenes (reservation required).

Tuesday 18 June at 5.30 pm reading group Let’s read about the theme of “courage”. Same time for the Fairy Tale Tree, reading aloud for children aged 3 to 10.

Wednesday 19 June at 3.30 pm film club with Ivan Longo, protagonist of the film “The Cameraman” by Buster Keaton and Edward Segdwick. At 5pm presentation of the book “Emozioni e colori” by Alba Asfalti and Ivana Mascelloni (2022, Fabrizio Fabbri) who will dialogue with Rossella Vasta, readings by Bruna Manzoni and Sandra Fuccelli.

Thursday 20 June at 5pm reading group Paths and Words with readings taken from “Memories from the House of the Dead” by Fyodor Dostoevsky. At 6pm presentation of the book “We all travel under false names. Stories of daily alienation” by Marco Felici (2024, DivinaFollia).
Furthermore, on the occasion of the XX June, to remember the events that took place in 1859 in Perugia, “The XX June in the library of Aldo Capitini” exhibition of documents present in the library of the Perugian philosopher.

Friday 21 June at 11am “Poetic music in the plural” poetic investigations and sound explorations with multiple voices. At 5.30pm, on the occasion of the Music Festival, “Joan and Barbara” meeting to meet Joan Baez and Barbara Dane.

Wednesday 19 June from 5pm to 7pm “Street music art workshop” free weekly meeting for children aged 11 to 21.

Friday 21 June at 5pm, on the occasion of the Music Festival, readings aloud of stories that have marked the history of the Zecchino d’oro (and beyond). Same time for the reading group A bridge of books which will feature Paul Auster’s “New York Trilogy”.

Saturday 22 June at 10.30 “The circle of green thumbs”, a meeting for plant enthusiasts aimed at acquiring practical knowledge and exchanging the secrets of the trade with Pianta Crossing Perugia.
