The Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Monza has further intensified its activity against the import and sale of goods that do not comply with the safety standards imposed by national and European Union legislation.
The Financial Police seized over 188 thousand counterfeit products
The action plan was developed by the Financiers of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Monza who, in implementation of the provincial operational mechanism to combat counterfeiting and organized commercial illegal activity, have recently carried out checks on two commercial operators of Monza and Muggiò, finding stored in warehouses, over 74,000 toys without warnings and indications regarding the essential safety requirements prescribed and approximately 108,000 products (for the home, for personal and animal care, costume jewellery) not compliant with the legislation consumer protection.
Once the possession for the placing on the market was confirmed, the articles on the market were immediately subjected to administrative seizure and the legal representatives of the company reported to the Milan-Monza-Lodi Chamber of Commerce for the application of significant administrative sanctions.
In the same warehouses in Monza, the Financiers also found and seized approximately 5,000 kitchen utensils advertised as products of Italian origin (with the unmistakable tricolor flag) despite the fact that they were made in Turkey, and referred the entrepreneur to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Monza for the crime of commercial fraud.

Still within the scope of activities related to combating the importation and sale of counterfeit goods, the soldiers of the Monza Group and the Company of
Seregno, have also seized, at the weekly market in Monza, over a thousand counterfeit items of clothing (sweatshirts, sweaters, trousers and caps bearing the brands of well-known fashion brands, such as Adidas, Nike and Jordan), with consequent referral of a person responsible at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Monza for the crimes of introduction into the State and trade of products with false signs, manufacture and trade of goods made by usurping industrial property rights and receiving stolen goods.
At a commercial establishment in Giussano, however, several hundred accessories and spare parts for
motorcycles (direction indicators, LED lights, rear-view mirrors, disc locks, license plate holders), with consequent reporting by the trader to the competent Chamber of Commerce.
