GesanCom Marsala Volley has the new libero, Cecilia Oggioni

The acquisitions for the composition of the roster that Coach Luca D’Amico will have the task of leading in this new 2024/25 season continue unabated. At Capo Boeo arrives the player who in her role will have the task of not letting the attacks that come from the other side of the net fall to the ground, libero Cecilia Oggioni.

The Roman player born in 1999 played the last two seasons in Melendugno, gaining promotion from B1 in the 2022/23 season and playing a leading championship in the last season in A2. From the VolleyRò Casal de Pazzi school with whom she won two championships and an award as the best libero in Italy, Cecilia Oggioni spent a season in B1 with Frascati in 2015/16 and one at Igor Volley Novara in 2016/17, then two seasons at Volley Roma where, in the first, he won the B1 championship, landing again in A2 the following year 2018/19. In 2019/20 she will remain in A2 for another season but in Montecchio Maggiore and then move to Catania in B1 in 2020/21, returning again to A2, again in Catania in 2021/22. The one from B1 to A2 becomes a constant that Cecilia has in her CV given that in 2022/23 she will move with the Apulian team from Melendugno to B1, acquiring another promotion to A2, a championship in which she played with the Lecce shirt in the last season.

“I have had the opportunity to appreciate Marsala’s work from afar in recent years in both A2 and B1, so taking part in an ambitious project in a structured company could only be an excellent solution for my career. I know many faces of my future team and they are all high level players, I have never worked with Luca D’Amico but I know that he works a lot and is attentive to detail just like I am so I really think that I will find myself in line with the his way of building the team. As for me, I am ready to make my sporting knowledge available and to grow even more in this splendid land. I can’t wait to get started.”
