Two journalism workshops were held at Anguissola

They were held between the months of February and May i two journalism workshops held at Liceo Anguissola thanks to PNRR funds and coordinated by professional journalists Cristina Coppolafrom the editorial team of Cremona 1 TVAnd Ivan Ghigiof the newspaper’s editorial team The province. The courses, which started in parallel after the first quarter, saw great participation from the students and ran along a double channel.

The first laboratory, led by Ghigi, was mainly focused on print journalism. She was created a real editorial team composed of participating students who initially learned fundamental notions (how an article is born, the basic principles of journalism on printed paper, the importance of sources and how to search for them) and subsequently tried their hand at writing some articles that they touched the macro areas of culture, sport and news. The final goal was the creation of a great front page on a chosen theme from the kids: how Anguissola has acquired dignity in the panorama of high schools and how it is an extremely active institute from a planning point of view.

The second workshop, coordinated by Cristina Coppola, focused on journalism intended for the web. Also in this case the students set up an editorial team, dividing the tasks within them, and had the opportunity, after having benefited from the necessary theoretical notions (such as the great differences between “traditional” journalism, web journalism, such as the fundamental “ingredients” and the characteristics of news accessible online) to experiment concretely how a journalist who writes for the web works.

The budding journalists, after creating the leditorial logonecessary to “sign” all their production, they therefore tried their hand at both podcast creation, and in the interviews of some notable athletes, guests for an afternoon in the editorial office itself. It is the case of Anna Piovesanvolleyball player from Esperia Cremona, and Matteo Piccoli, basketball player from Vanoli. For each interview, posts and reels were created for social channels, a video available on YouTube and an article for the school website.

The students’ level of satisfaction with the completed workshops was high and they said they were already ready to repeat the experience.
