Giuseppe Mascia is officially the new mayor of Sassari. In front of the packed room, the Campo Largo leader wanted to thank those who supported him during the election campaign. «We ran – these are his words – with the idea of restoring hope and looking forward, which is not easy in our times and not only in our territory». Instead, turning to the former senator, he assured “that we will complete the legacy you have left us”.
Then the meeting in the meeting room with the journalists where he focused on the most pressing issues such as the composition of the nine councilors who will follow him over the next five years and whose list will be ready within two weeks. As for the first moves, Mascia says, they will concern “the 2021-27 funds for the civic market and the intermodal center”. However, the project for the so-called “canal” of the Fosso della Noce needs to be reviewed, which will be remodelled, and the Valleys system while the PD provincial secretary wanted to reassure about possible interference by the parties. «They won’t be cumbersome. There is cohesion between us and my candidacy demonstrates it.”
